Friends of Burke and Wills

Looking for a way to become more involved in the Commemoration Program? You are invited to join the "Friends of Burke and Wills".

There are a number of ways in which the Friends of Burke and Wills can participate.

  • Join the Royal Society of Victoria, especially if the scientific side of the expedition interests you.
  • Join the Burke and Wills Historical Society.
  • Tell us if you think you may have a connection with one of the Expedition members, particularly if you are, or may be, a descendant. Direct descendants of expedition members may be invited to participate in re-enactment events.
  • Tell us about any documents or artefacts that you think may be connected to the Expedition.
A planned legacy of the Commemoration Program is a national register of documents and artefacts related to the Expedition.
  • Send us a donation to help us to fund all of the exciting projects that are being planned (the Royal Society of Victoria has Deductible Gift Recipient Status, so donations are tax deductible).
  • Send us an email (choose Contact Us on the main menu) if you are already participating in the organisation of a commemorative event and you would like it included in the Calendar of Events.
  • Contact the organisers of the Across Australia Environment Expedition if you wish to join that Expedition.
  • Subscribe to our occasional e-newsletter "On Track"
  • Subscribe to an RSS feed from this website. There is an RSS feed on both the News (home) page and the Calendar of Events page.
  • Keep watching this website for more news of events and projects.

For any of the first five options, please download and complete the Friends of Burke and Wills form, then return it to the Royal Society of Victoria.
